10/17 Recap

Overnight we got great numbers from Taiwan Semi and that whole space took off lifting tech higher this morning. The SPY remains firmly over the 8 ema and in an uptrend. This afternoon we have Netflix reporting which will definitely read through to a lot of the other Nasdaq components. So if you are on the fence with some trades be sure to lighten up because I can’t tell you how many times over the last decade I’ve seen tech stocks fall apart on a bad Netflix reaction. Otherwise, not much else to say we have megacaps reporting in the next 2 weeks which should give us more clarity on the direction of the market. I will not be around tomorrow, I explained more below, but the database will be open until monday with the link below and I will post a best idea this weekend.

Recent Trades

CLMT - I first mentioned this last week on 10/8 in the recap here and it was just over $20, I noted some trades again 2 days ago and yesterday after hours it popped 20% on a financing approval they received. It has fade much of that move and is only up 3% now but it is still up 9% from the 10/8 post below. If you got a chance to sell this morning congrats it hit a high of 25.28 before moving lower.

Today’s Unusual Options Activity

Here is today’s link to the database, it’s going to be open until monday. I need to take tomorrow off. As you all know my dad has been in the hospital for 4.5 months now dealing with cancer and he hasn’t woken up the last 2 days, his vitals are fine but he is just out of it, so I’m going to spend the night there tonight and be there tomorrow until we know what is going on. I won’t be updating tomorrow’s trades because I won’t be around. Apologies again, I hate missing days, but I have to be there.
