As earnings season winds down, here is the calendar for the week ahead, as I post all the unusual activity I have in my database, please check to make sure the trades are still in the open interest if you are interested in any of them as sometimes things change from the date of execution to now. I will organize it all by when they report. If I don’t post anything it is because I have nothing in the name.

In last weeks earnings preview this is what I had for DDOG and someone left me a comment saying “why would they sell those deep in the money puts at 95”. As we found out later that week DDOG was up 30% on earnings to over $100. The point is, these trades on an individual basis aren’t always right, but you have to look at the whole picture of all the information available and with DDOG there 12 open trades and every trade was bullish so you have to think about how you want to trade the name. Me, I’m usually a conservative put seller, lower when I want to trade but the point of organizing these options flows is to give us a little bit of an edge on potential direction. In the case of DDOG you could see the lowest put sold was 65, for me that’s a level you want to target, with all the funds we know having placed trades, 65 is the lowest level someone is looking to get long, I want to get in there or lower. That’s it. Those 4700 puts sold for January at 65 worked perfectly. So that is how you need to think about all this information, I know many of you like to play calls, and that’s fine, I’m just showing what I use this data for.
