12/30 My Positioning Going Into Next Year
Hope everyone had a great break over the holiday, I will be back to normal next monday with the recaps. I have still been updating the database everyday over the break but it has been much slower with overall volumes. With the year ending tomorrow I wanted to go over how I’m positioned into next year and what my plans are going forward.
To start, the last 3 years have been absolutely incredible for me in here, I started writing this substack with $1.4m and I ended this year closer to $11m. Alot of taxes are due in 2026. Why? Well that huge AMZN leap position I took when I was around a $2.5M balance was cashed in this year and then after I cashed it in I made another nearly $5M in 2025. So I transferred out $3.5M yesterday which is why you will see my balance much lower now. I know taxes aren’t due till April, I pay estimates every quarter already but I don’t want to risk anything happening in the market and I just pulled out some money. If your furu never has to make tax withdrawals, you should question things.
With that out of the way, what I’m thinking and doing in 2026. For starters honestly, I’m not “done” taking risks, but I won’t be as reckless with margin as I was the last few years. I will of course use margin but in much smaller quantities. I just don’t need to hit that grand slam anymore, I did it, I’m happy, and now I can just be a little less aggressive with my moves. I also don’t want to be checking my phone all day to manage my margin and stress over what’s going on in the market. I know many of you don’t want to hear that but that’s just reality. I know lots have told me over the years my style isn’t for them or I’m too aggressive and that’s fine, to get ahead in life you’re going to have to take risks somewhere. I promise without a little risk you’re not turning $1.4M into $11m in 3.5 years, but now that I’m in a good spot I want to focus more on building a book, making less moves, and have something more people can relate to. I of course am still going to be aggressive with my sizing but you’re going to see more commons and less leverage from me. I’m going to go over my positions below and why I’m in them. I believe in a heavy concentration into your best ideas and my top 6 positions are either going to make or break my 2026. I will go over why I chose each one. My top 6 names comprise 70% of my book, is it crazy? I don’t know the SPY is 35% just 7 names. I think you have to size up your conviction otherwise just index and not waste your time.
