First things first, so I mentioned last week that I was hoping to have a working app for you all to search the database at your own leisure this week, we’re very close just a few last things that need to be finalized. One of the concerns was the quality of the experience if you had hundreds of people using it and alot of you might be scraping the data which would ruin the experience for others. So that along with how to cut off access whenever people unsubscribed were just the final things that needed to get resolved before it can be shared. So very soon hopefully, sorry again for the delays.
We got a sharp bounce today as big tech rallied led by Semis. If you recall there was a very large SMH call buy in friday’s recap 15,000x and that was up 3% today as alot of the semis have news to drop this week at CES. Apple as well announced a release date on their Apple Vision Pro and that is where the big rally in tech came from.
For now, the SPY has reclaimed the 8 ema, we have to see where it closes later, but this is what bulls want to see, no sustained weakness. The RSI has cooled off from overbought levels but still remains elevated at 60.
Oil continues its slide down nearly 5% today. This is a weird one because commodities are ripping hard and it looks like inflation may be returning. Copper in particular was very strong, but the OPEC news today was too much for oil to overcome and it resolved lower to 70.xx
The TNX also reversed right where it should if this pullback was just a small one within an uptrend. Bulls need yields to fall and this was a very sharp turnaround at major resistance.
Recent Trades
Before getting into the odd action I wanted to note today, CYTK as you’ll remember had so much bullish action last week, today there’s a big call spread bought at 90/100 5000x this morning I noted in the live chat, it just exploded 16% to 109+ on news Novartis is looking to acquire the company. Once again, the call buyers win! Look at all the trades just since new years. Did any of you do well here? I noted this I don’t know how many times in the last month. This was awesome to watch unfold.
On Friday I noted all the activity going on in AMD and it did not disappoint rising 5% today. Those 138 calls from Friday are up huge with the name at 145+ right now, well done by that player.
Another one I noted Friday was DLO and it is up 4.5% today after the massive put sale that came in Friday. That’s the point of me watching for this odd action, when names like DLO which never see activity see something of that size, you know someone is loading it before something. Very nice trade again by whoever sold these on Friday.
