6/29/26 Recap
The SPY closed under the 50 day friday, today it gapped right back over it and rejected the 21 ema so far. We’re seeing a rotation out of the recent momentum names into the megacaps during this session. The megacaps have been really out of favor for a while and if this market is going to continue higher, any contribution from them at this point would be welcome. We have some more meetings with Iran this week, who knows what is going on with that, we have a deal every week then by the weekend we’re bombing them again. For the time being the market is not too focused on the war, but you have to be wary of it escalating. We kick off earnings season in 2 weeks so that is now our next big catalyst. Bulls would like to see this push over the 21 ema after 5 sessions below it now.
New Features
I’ve added a new calculator to every options trade the database builds for you. The example below is from the risk reversal it drew up on Apple. It’s pretty simple to use
How Many? - This is where you would put in how many contracts of the suggested trade you’re looking at adding.
Cost - This is where you get the math on the whole trade from best case to worst.
Margin - This is how much margin it would take to place the trade you wanted
Margin ROI - Shows the return on the margin utilized
Again this is my calculator, I utilize a ton of margin and I judge trades by the return on the margin utilized. Some of you don’t use margin and that isn’t important to you, but for traders who do this is a simple tool to show you the possible outcomes.
It’s especially helpful on the income trades where you can quickly see this apple put spread sale below gives you a 13% return on the margin utilized in just 4 months. Annualized, that’s a nice trade.
