For those that are new I don’t usually write a full recap on Friday’s, I usually just post the option flows and trends. Today I wanted to add in the week’s best idea from last Saturday. GM rocketed higher this week up around 10% right now for the week. This is less about me being right on the name and more I just dug through the trends I post everyday and found a name with

  1. bullish flow

  2. a nice chart setup.

The 1-2 punch of useful data and a chart showing accumulation can be a powerful thing. As you can see in that post here there was alot of bullish flow and that was all coming in before the news we got yesterday after-hours that they were going to be joining Tesla’s EV charging network.

What’s more interesting to me is this week in Monday’s recap here I had noted some serious put buying on CHPT that was expiring today

Well CHPT is down 13.5% today as I type this up down to $8.30 and the buyers of those puts definitely were in the know about what was coming. I’m the least shocked person that someone would risk buying 40,000 puts expiring in 4 days without knowing something was coming. Which is why I say pay extra attention to the odd trades expiring in short timeframes.

Do you see how all this stuff flows together? You see a build up of flows in a name, it’s usually a sign a move higher is coming. They how or why is not important. How you position into it is up to you whether you buy shares, sell puts, whatever, is your call, I’m just here to provide the data on direction. You see more about why I’m adamant about fundamentals meaning less than people think? The game is dirty, we’re just here to hitch a ride. Look at that BVN trade I noted 2 days ago, the stock rallied I think 10% right after over the next 24 hours then collapsed today. I know alot of you play these shorter term calls, I don’t, but there is money to be made when these oddities are spotted without a doubt. Just remember you have to be careful about being greedy trying to maximize it if you’re playing these. When you have a profit, book it. These short term premiums move around so violently you don’t want to get caught off guard.
