7/14 Recap

Sorry for the late recap today, Substack was down.

The SPY is closing out an incredible candle on the week. We’re over 450, this is probably your pre-earnings move higher and now we all await what comes over the next 3 weeks with earnings. This is just incredibly strong right now and its going to take some bad prints to get this trend to break.

Trends

Very interesting week here. Lots of these names at the top had very big weeks: AMZN,SNAP,ATVI,META all had tremendous weeks, even BABA was up 5%. MGM had the huge move yesterday. NVDA gained over $100b in market cap in just the past week. Amazing action we’ve seen.On the bearish side LNC is down 2% today, ARKK is down 2%, are these names starting to turn? We will have to see these trades are further out to expiry but still notable.

Today’s Unusual Options Activity & What Stood Out

1. META - yesterday after I posted my recap there was a massive buy of 40,000 MAX STRIKE December 2025 600 calls. Today there was a big buy of December 2025 500 calls 2000x along with a buy of 3800 October 320 calls. Most interesting were those calls yesterday. Take a look below and you see those 400 calls bought on April 13 and 14? Remember those? Those were max strike at the time was around $200 and the player rolled those out yesterday to those 600s. It was a huge gain almost $100m. Interesting to see what comes of this
